It's official!

Doug told me that I should post this story:

While driving to work last week, the DJs were talking about woman Star Wars fanatics. So for giggles I called in to announce that I was a fanatic. We talked awhile and they offered my free sneak preview passes for the show (we got to see the movie before all those people waiting in line for the midnight showing!). So they asked me for my name and I said Julie Schwartz as in "may the Schwartz be with you"! The DJs just started cracking up, they loved it! I called Doug as soon as I got off the phone and told him I was on the radio and I won us tickets so listen for me. Doug was so proud, not because I won tickets (eventhough he was happy for that) but that I've officially become a Schwartz! I was able to make the not so infamous quote from Spaceballs like I'd been a Schwartz since I was born!

Following in Mommy's footsteps

My little girl can sing, I'm so proud! The other day she was playing around in the living room and I heard her talking. The more I listened the more I realized that she was singing "Twinkle, Twinkle". The next day I'm driving our daily commute to daycare and I hear her singing "Ol McDonald". It goes something like this "Ol' Donald farm, e-i-e-i-oO...DUCK!...Quack here, quack here...Ol' Donald farm, e-i-e-i-o". =0)

Stubborn?

So I picked Wendy up from daycare last week and her teacher told me that she had to put Wendy in time-out that morning. She very rarely gets put into time-out so I was very curious to hear what she had done. Apparently, Wendy did not want to come down from the top of the playset when it was time to go in for lunch. The teacher gathered up all the children and lined them up at the door to bring them inside. Sure enough, Wendy was sitting at the top of the slide playing by herself. The teacher asked Wendy to come down and get in line to go inside. Wendy said "see ya tomorrow". The teacher had to chuckle to herself and asked her again to come down and that it was time to go inside. Again, Wendy said "see ya tomorrow". The poor teacher, who was in a skirt that day, had to climb the playset to get her to come down.

This has been the saying of the week, so I too had to chuckle at the story. I guess she has picked up the stubborn trait from my side of my family. =0)

Too cute!

Wendy has discovered that you are suppose to smile for the camera. We were playing around one night and I asked if she wanted me to take her picture. She ran up to the camera and said "Mouse?". I said "No honey, this is a camera". She said "Cheese!!". We just had to laugh! The interesting part is that we didn't teach her to say "cheese" when we take a picture. At daycare they take a lot of pictures and send them to use so I'm thinking they must of taught her to say "cheese" for the camera.

The other funny thing is that she knows she sees herself in the camera after we take the picture. So after I took these she said "Wendy?" And I would have to show her the pictures of herself. We tried to take pictures of Doug and I with her, but she wouldn't cooperate for that. =0)

Appropriate Fortune

Julie and I treated each other to P.F. Changs the other night. My fortune read, "A short stranger will soon enter your life."

Update

I hope all is with everyone! As for me, I have some interesting news. I'm leaving my new job to go back to my old job. The law firm has offered me a part-time position as a case clerk and they are willing to hire me back at the same status as I was when I left (ie 2 years of service). This means I qualify for benefits and maternity leave!! The place I'm at now can not offer me the same pay or the benefits, so I decided it would be best if I go back to the firm. I'm very excited and I'm hoping to start this Monday!

Meanwhile, I'm doing pretty well, a little over 19 weeks now. Over the past couple of months, I've had the flu and really bad stomach bug so I've had a rough fist trimester. I'm just now starting to feel some what normal again, but the heartburn and nausea can really get to me some days. We had an ultrasound last week and it wasn't conclusive, but the doctor's best guess is that it is a boy! =0)

We signed Wendy up for swim lessons in mid-June, but I want to start working with her now. So I got me a maternity bathing suit and a pool pass for the summer, and we are going to start off simple (i.e. splashing in the kiddy pool) for a while. This way she can get use to being in the pool again and when the lessons begin I won't be starting at ground zero.

I've attached some recent pictures of Wendy for you.

Take Care!
